7/13/2008   METAL CLEATS ILLEGAL IN NAFA GIRLS PLAY
This Directive is official today for NAFA Youth play.

Effective Immediately for all NAFA Youth play including National Tournaments the following emergency ruling will be in effect regarding a player found wearing metal cleats which are illegal:
"In the event that a player or players are found to be in violation of the "no metal cleat rule", the umpire shall eject "BOTH" the 3rd base coach and the player(s) found to be wearing the illegal metal cleats for the remainder of that game. Once the first pitch is thrown this penalty will become effective for each game."At the national meeting in October in Kansas City we will address this rule for 2009.

March 20th, 2008, 2009 National Championship sites and dates were placed including an exciting new "Elite" Division for each age group. More details to follow in September.

March 15th, 2008, The NAFA Girls and Women's Fastpitch bylaws were approved by a 7-0 vote of the NAFA Executive Committee.

Dec 27th, 2007, the 2008 NAFA Rulebook Document was posted online. Please review it as the Playing Rules Committee is reviewing it also for potential changes for 2008. Submit your rule change requests to President Jack Spahr at Jack@nafa-region4.com by January 1st, 2008. The Playing Rules Committee will vote on them on January 10th and the hard copy rule book will go to press on January 15th. Each team and umpire will receive a rulebook.
